GOLFERS TURN OUT TO SUPPORT
VOLUNTEER WEST ISLAND’S
10TH ANNUAL GOLF TOURNAMENT

Volunteer West Island’s 10th Annual Charity Golf Tournament took place Monday, June 21st at the Whitlock Golf and Country Club in Hudson amidst ideal weather conditions.

Volunteer West Island, itself a non-profit organization and the only volunteer recruitment organization in the West Island, has been helping the community since 1967, recruiting, training, and referring volunteers for many non-profit community organizations. In addition, VWI offers both outreach and on-site programs and services aimed at breaking the isolation seniors often face and helping them remain in their own homes, enjoying as high a quality of life and autonomy as long as possible.

This is Volunteer West Island’s only fund-raising event of the year. All proceeds will be used to support our programs aimed at breaking isolation for West Island seniors.

Pat Empsall, member of VWI’s Board of Directors and Coordinator of the Prize Committee, thanked “all those who contributed to the success of the event, from the donors of Silent Auction items, golf prizes and door prizes, as well as the staff of VWI who were instrumental in the efficient organization of the event, and the volunteers who gave of their time”.
