Novartis Employees Lend a Helping Hand
On Friday, April 25 th , 200 employees of Novartis Pharmaceuticals Canada really got into the spirit of volunteering to celebrate their Community Partnership Day! During this annual event, Novartis employees around the world spend the day doing volunteer work in the community. This year Volunteer West Island is pleased to have partnered with Novartis on this event. The employees from the Canadian affiliate in Dorval spent the day washing windows, painting, sorting food and clothing, and preparing meals at 11 community groups in the West Island. These included the Centre Multi-Ressources, the West Island Palliative Care Residence, the Omega Centre, the Centre d’hébergement Dorval and the West Island Assistance Fund. Schering Plough Makes a Difference at the Centre d'hébergement Dorval
Early on the morning of April 11th a team of employees from Schering Plough Pharmaceuticals arrived at the Centre d’hébergement Dorval armed with paint brushes and rollers. The employees volunteered to help brighten the surroundings of 13 residents of the long-term care facility by applying a fresh coat of paint to their ward. By the time the team left at the end of the day, the walls of the ward had been painted a light shade of blue while baseboards and doors to the rooms sported a contrasting darker blue coat of paint. Volunteer West Island would like to thank Schering Plough for the time, enthusiasm and hard work they contributed to this project! |
